She took the pills to ease the pain,

to make herself invisible.

A purer way than pierced vein,

and consequence less visible.

She took the pills to cease her trial,

a course to stunt the throe,

toilsome to hold a pseudo smile,

yet easier than crimson flow.

She took the pills to blur the sting,

to end her wretched life,

towards the drain, around the ring,

a plughole, red with strife.

She took the pills to ease the pain,

so that she herself could become invisible.
